Bharata’s Kind Rule

Once upon a time, in the city of Ayodhya, there were four brothers—Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna. They lived happily with their father, King Dasharatha.

One day, King Dasharatha had to make a tough decision. He said that Rama, the eldest brother, had to go away for a very long time—fourteen whole years. This news made everyone in Ayodhya sad, especially Bharata, who loved Rama a lot.

Bharata’s Noble Choice: To Bring Rama Back

Instead of becoming the king in Rama’s absence, Bharata decided to bring Rama back. But Rama, being wise and caring, told Bharata to take care of Ayodhya and be a good leader while he was away for those fourteen years. Bharata agreed, and with a heavy heart, he watched Rama leave for the forest.

Bharata’s Compassion: A Helping Hand for the Needy

Bharata returned to Ayodhya with a big responsibility. He ruled the city with kindness and fairness, just like Rama had taught him. He helped the people and made sure everyone was happy. His younger brother, Shatrughna, supported him in every decision.

One day, a poor woman came to Bharata with a problem. Her home had burned down, and she had nowhere to go. Without thinking twice, Bharata arranged for her to have a new home. The people in Ayodhya were amazed at how caring and fair their temporary king was.

Time passed, and Ayodhya became a peaceful and prosperous place under Bharata’s rule. He never forgot his promise to Rama and took care of the city as if it were his own family, all through those fourteen long years.

After the completion of fourteen years, Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana returned to Ayodhya. Bharata was overjoyed to see Rama again, and he welcomed him warmly. Rama praised Bharata for being a good leader and thanked him for keeping the promise during those fourteen years.

The people of Ayodhya were also happy. They celebrated Rama’s return and appreciated Bharata for being a kind and fair leader. The story of Bharata’s promise became famous—a story of love between brothers and how Bharata kept his promise to Rama, even during those challenging fourteen years.

And so, the brothers continued to live happily in Ayodhya, and the story of Bharata’s promise became a lesson about taking care of each other and keeping promises.
