The Ram Setu

Rama Constructs a Magical Bridge

In the sacred kingdom of Ayodhya, Prince Rama devised a strategy to rescue his beloved wife, Sita, held captive on the distant island of Lanka by the demon king Ravana. Gathering a formidable army, including the indomitable Hanuman, Rama faced the daunting challenge of crossing the vast ocean that lay between them and Lanka.

Seeking the counsel of Nala, the chief architect and engineer in his army, Rama decided on an ingenious plan. Nala proposed constructing a bridge made of floating stones, enchanting them with the divine name of Lord Rama. The chosen location for this remarkable endeavor was the shores of the mainland, stretching across the ocean to the distant city of Lanka.

As Rama’s army commenced the colossal task, they reached the ocean’s edge. However, the sea, recognizing Ravana’s nefarious deeds, refused to yield a path for Rama’s righteous mission. Frustration and anger welled up within Rama, and in his righteous fury, he decided to dry up the obstinate sea.

With a determined gaze and bow in hand, Rama prepared to unleash his divine arrow. The sea god, realizing the gravity of the situation, appeared before Rama and sought forgiveness. Acknowledging the sea god’s plea, Rama’s anger subsided, and the sea, remorseful, granted passage for the construction of the bridge.
